Collier judge clears teen in fatal bus stop stabbing (News Press)

(A judge’s ruling that a 15-year-old boy is free from civil and criminal prosecution under Florida’s “Stand Your Ground” law in the stabbing death of a fellow student leaves behind many questions about the law and about escalating bullying and violence in schools. Collier Circuit Judge Lauren Brodie, after reviewing testimony of several students and deputies and evidence presented at a two-day hearing last month, ruled Friday that Jorge Saavedra was acting in self-defense when he fatally stabbed Dylan Nuno, 16, at a bus stop after school last Jan. 24 in Golden Gate Estates.)

Severe weather in Surrey (BBC)

(A bus driver suffered serious injuries when a large oak tree fell on to his vehicle during strong winds in Surrey. The man had to be cut free from the bus after the tree, which was 6ft in diameter, struck the single-decker vehicle in Witley, Godalming, earlier. Surrey Police said the driver had been taken to St George's Hospital in Tooting, south London.)

Why You’d Never Know There Was A Mouse In Your Soda (Gizmodo)

(Pepsi is being sued by a Madison County, Illinois man who claims he found a mouse in his Mountain Dew. Ho-hum, right? But wait, Pepsi came up with the greatest defense ever: you'll never know you're drinking mouse! A little back story. In 2009, Ronald Ball says he bought a can of Mountain Dew from a vending machine at work. The soda made him violently ill, and he began throwing up he claims. He poured the soda in a styrofoam cup, and, well, there was a mouse. Or so he says.)

His daughter, nine, and four-year-old son were trapped in the water along with a second nine-year-old girl.)

Mom reunites with daughter 77 years later (MSNBC)

(For most of her 100 years, Minka Disbrow tried to find out what became of the precious baby girl she gave up for adoption after being raped as a teen. She hoped, but never imagined, she'd see her Betty Jane again. The cruel act of violence bore in Disbrow an enduring love for the child. She kept a black and white photograph of the baby bundled in blankets and tucked inside a basket.)

(Human remains have been discovered on Sandringham estate, a vast area in rural Norfolk where the royal family retreats for the holiday season, local police announced Monday. Bridalplasty: California Bride's Plastic Surgery Equals Cost of Her Wedding (ABC)

(Many brides might head to the gym to tone up before their big day. They may even go on a diet. But for many brides nowadays, getting a breast lift or liposuction has also become part of the pre-wedding day routine. That new part of the routine even has a name: Bridalplasty. There was even a reality TV show -- of the same name -- that put brides-to-be against each other in a competition for nose jobs, implants, liposuction and the ultimate prize: a celebrity-worthy dream wedding. Linsey Ray has always dreamed of being the picture-perfect bride. But, until recently, that seemed like a distant fantasy. She struggled with her weight for a long time.)

Man eats pizza slice from EVERY joint in Manhattan; Colin Hagendorf eats 362 slices and still craves more (New York Daily News)

(The most amazing thing about Colin Hagendorf is not that he has eaten a plain slice from all 362 local pizza joints in Manhattan. It’s that even after shoving dozens of mediocre slices down his gullet, he still loves to eat pizza. “I will always eat pizza. There’s nothing better for lunch or dinner,” says the 28-year-old Brooklyn resident as he devours two slices of cheese and a pepperoni roll at his favorite outer borough pizzeria, Carmine’s Original in Greenpoint.)

The State Attorney’s Office has indicated that it will not appeal the ruling.)

Comic Book Men Preview: AMC's New Show About Kevin Smith's Comic Book Store (Cinema Blend)

(Say what you will about the writer-director but if one thing is certain it's that Kevin Smith's managed to amass a devoted following as well as cut out a nice little cultural niche for himself in both Redbank, New Jersey and Los Angeles. Of course, his earlier work was often set in his NJ home-away-from-home as well as his well known Secret Stash comic book store. However, with his success he's also begun to spread his little empire over L.A. with a second store as well as his famous SModcastle podcasting headquarters. Combine those two passions, comics and podcasting and the result is the new AMC series Comic Book Men.)

The Dark Knight Rises audio reworked following complaints (Telegraph UK)

(The Dark Knight Rises, the third and final in Christopher Nolan’s series of Batman movies, is fast becoming the most talked about movie of the year, months before its release. Latest 'Dark Knight' Stills Revealed (Hollywood Reporter)

(Two new stills from The Dark Knight Rises have surfaced online: one of Batman, wielding a strange-looking weapon, and another of Bane, shielding his chest in an intense pose. The English actor Tom Hardy portrays brand-new masked villain Bane, whose muffled speech has been cause for concern from fans of the franchise, who complained they could not hear anything he said during the eight-minute preview released last month.)

Street Artist Posterchild Provides 'Evidence of Batman' In Toronto (Comics Alliance)

(I have never been to Toronto, but I imagine that like most cities, the main complaint among people who live there is that Batman does not make his home in their fair city. Fortunately for Torontonians -- and unfortunately for the growing community of Canadian arch-villains -- one man has taken it upon himself to change that. In a series of installations Toronto street artist Posterchild -- the guy behind the slightly infamous Mario Blocks -- has been documenting "Evidence of Batman," from batarangs lodged in telephone poles to distinctive footprints left by wall-climbing. Check out a few of our favorite shots of his work after the jump!)
